About the Event

The transitions into all forms of employment have been rough at times. But with the help of amazing supervisors and co-workers, it has been possible for someone like me on the autism spectrum to succeed with flying colors. Circumstances are not going to be perfect, but hopefully this speech will assist the students into tweaking it a little bit closer to perfection. Each job has taught me something valuable that will outlast the actual employment experience. I know that most people on the autism spectrum have something incredible to offer the adult world. This program is called, "Bridges" for a good reason. People need to build a "bridge" to better things. Such a feat cannot be accomplished by oneself. We need advocates and people to give us more of a fighting chance.
